Design…did you know
  • Lighter paint colors require less energy to light a space
  • Textured fabrics reduce noise levels and provide quieter work environments.
  • New technology has made it possible to comfortably reduce the size of a workstation requiring fewer parts and pieces and reducing square footage.
  • Some wall covering vendors have introduced new papers made with recycled content, see two of them below.

Flooring…did you know
  • Some carpet mills are able to take your old warn out carpet and recycle it into fabulous new carpet!  This is called “cradle to cradle
  • Carpet tiles allow you to replace one bad tile without the need to replace the whole space.
  • There are a variety of adhesives available today that have been manufactured for an improved air quality with little or no VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) 
  • Bamboo and cork flooring is made from renewable products.

Furniture…did you know
  • Instead of filling landfills with used furniture, new fabric and new paint can achieve a “good as new” look
  • One seating manufacturer has a seat cushion made with 50% renewable content.
  • Using architectural walls instead of conventional construction will reduce the amount of sheetrock and building supplies in our landfills
  • Fabrics used for wall systems and furniture reduces noice levels while improving concentration.
  • Many manufacturers today are looking at ways to reduce production waste.
